Our weekly classes are the core of our program. This is the starting point for each of our students. The goal of these classes is to foster a love for the game of basketball. Many students begin here and eventually move on to our Club Class Program.

  In our Weekly Class Program we try to divide kids according to age as much as possible


  Occasionally a child may play up in an older age group. Because of our numerous locations and class options we work to find classes that suit the ability level of each individual student.


  A weekly class consists of 10 consecutive weekly classes that are 1 Hour (4-8 year olds)or 1.5 Hours (9–17 Year Olds). This class is taught entirely in English by our skilled foreign coaches.

  Our current 15 week coaching outlineand list consists of essential skills that arebased on Head Coach Bob Pierce’s 7 years’ experience coaching youth basketball in California, as well as his more than 15 years coachingprofessionally around the world. This plan and skills outline are based on what a typical American student would be learning at approximately the same age as our Five-Star Sports Basketball students.


  The idea is to introduce all students to a solid, well rounded, foundation of skills, using both their right and left hands. This involves not only shooting, dribbling,passing and defense, but also focuses on footwork through practicing the CobraOne-on-One series, along with using jump stops and pivots.


  Basketballis a team game, so drills like the 2-on-2, 3-on-2, 2-on-1 series and learning parts of the UCLA Cut in both the Middles and Bigs classes, are designed to help students learn spacing and how to effectively coordinate their movements with those of their teammates.


  The hope is that students going through the program will develop not only a solid base of skills, but will also develop a love for the game of basketball and the desire to do more. Students with that interest and desire should then be prepared to move on to our club team program.

Club Teams


Club Teams

  The Club Class Program is great for kids who are ready to commit to two classes per week. In this program the classes are fixed at 16 students who meet twice each week. Weekly Class students are not permitted to drop into these classes as the goal is to have continuity in the group and move into more sophisticated training and team offence.


  Additionally, we regularly arrange games with outside competition for our Club Teams. We have found that the kids in this program progress at a faster rate than those in our Weekly Class Program. At present we have 20 Club Teams and expect this to expand in the future to 30 teams.

  In our Club Class Program kids are divided according both ability and age. All students are required to tryout for these teams.

Club Teams

  Club classes will learn two offensive systems: the North Carolina Freelance Passing Game and the 1-4 Offence.Using the parts of the offences that help to reinforce the basic fundamentals of shooting, passing, and dribbling is showing development among players. The North Carolina Freelance Passing Game,used by Michael Jordan when he was in college, only has a few set rules, and focuses on spacing and working together. The 1-4 Offence is what Coach Bob has used with all his professional teams in Japan and China. Teaching our Club Class students a few set plays is a useful way to teach them how a team of five players functions as a single unit.


  Once the teams have completed some basic training in team defence, they will begin to learn how to use the North Carolina Freelance Passing Game, and the 1-4 Offence, in order to create specific scoring opportunities in a 5 x 5 setting.As for the defence, Club Class Students will learn how to stop a team from executing a set offence. The plan for the spring will be to start learning both half-court and full-court zone defences and offences.

Course introduction

  The FAT training course is one of the elite training programs in the five-star sports basketball training system, providing students with more opportunities for repeated personal training and tempering. FAT, the “Basic Acceleration Enhancement Training”, is designed to help trainees improve their core foundation skills faster and more efficiently than weekly training.


Course content design

 

  The FAT training course can help middle and high level students improve their practical ability in a short period of time, which will greatly benefit their future basketball development. This training course consists of 6 participants and 1 coach, consisting of 1 hour coach special training and 30 minutes high intensity competition.


  The FAT training program is challenging to set up, allowing students to receive more advanced training in a fun-filled atmosphere, many of which can be done at home or integrated into daily training. The course usually ends in a 30-minute intense competition, and the students can use the newly acquired skills in the competition.

Students who take 6-to-1 FAT training courses can speed up the learning process, have more experience and basic skills.

Participate in requirements

  Participants in the FAT training course must have certain basketball skills. After receiving the coach's assessment, they can participate in the FAT course that is suitable for the current level of the student.

HIT training

  HIT training, which is high-intensity training, is one of the advanced personal training programs we currently offer. The training consists of 4 students and 1 coach. The training lasts for one hour and incorporates many high-end basketball skills training, including strength training and load limit training.


  All training content in this training is different from what we have provided in other trainings. The specific training program will be adjusted according to the size, speed and talent of each student. The training was originally designed to help those who are extremely serious, train hard, and want to maximize their athletic talent.


  Due to the high level of training known, the training content itself is very strict and high-end. This training is only open to those who have been selected and approved by our coaches.
